It Started With a Small Shop in Cheyenne
When we opened our doors in 1997, buying a handgun meant walking into a store, talking to whoever happened to be behind the counter, and hoping they knew what they were talking about.
We thought there was a better way. So we built a shop that ran on two things: product knowledge and straight answers. No hype, no pressure, no upselling someone into the wrong pistol. Just good advice from people who actually shoot.
That approach worked. Word got around. And over the years, we became the shop that Wyoming shooters trusted when they needed something they couldn't find anywhere else — especially Glocks.
From Wyoming Counter to Nationwide Storefront
For most of our history, Gunbaze was a local business. Customers drove in from across the state, and that was that.
Then the firearms industry changed. Online marketplaces made it possible to reach shooters we'd never have met otherwise — but most of them were running on the same broken model: thin listings, no real product knowledge, and a checkout process that treated federal law like an afterthought.
We knew we could do it better. So we took what we'd learned over two and a half decades and built Gunbaze.com around a simple idea: buying a Glock online should feel as straightforward as buying one from a shop that actually knows Glocks.
Today, every order we ship goes to a licensed FFL dealer near the customer — whether that's a hundred miles from Cheyenne or three thousand. And every order still gets the same treatment: checked by a human, packed with care, and shipped with a process that respects both the law and the buyer.

Every sale runs through the same federal and state compliance process — no shortcuts, no workarounds, no exceptions. If a state restricts a magazine or requires a specific model configuration, we handle it correctly. That's not a feature; it's the price of doing business in this industry.
2. Product knowledge is the product
We only sell what we'd carry ourselves. Before anything goes in the catalog, someone on our team has handled it, shot it, or worked on it. If we can't answer a question about a product, it doesn't belong on the site.
3. A real person reads every order
We're not a dropshipper or a marketplace. Every order is reviewed by someone who knows what they're looking at — before it ships, and before it gets to your FFL.
