Returns & Refunds

Our Return Policy, Explained Plainly

Firearm returns work differently than returns for almost anything else you buy online. This page covers exactly how they work at Gunbaze — no fine print, no surprises.

Before you worry about eligibility — talk to us.

Most return situations are more flexible than the table below suggests. Email sales@gunbaze.com or use our contact form first, and we'll review your specific case before you do anything else.

The short version: A Glock that hasn't been transferred and hasn't been fired can usually be returned under our policy. Once transferred — and especially once fired — standard retail returns no longer apply. Manufacturing defects go through Glock's warranty process. Transfer fees and shipping charges are typically non-refundable.

Return Scenarios

Glock Return & Refund Summary

Every situation is different. This table shows how each common scenario is typically handled. Contact us before acting on any row — we'll confirm your specific case.

Situation Typical Handling
Unfired Glock, before or around transfer We may accept a return per our written return policy. Contact us before the firearm is transferred.
Glock already transferred to customer Not treated as a standard retail return. The receiving FFL must handle it under their records and applicable law.
Glock has been fired Generally not eligible for a change-of-mind refund. Suspected defects are handled separately under warranty.
Manufacturing or functional defect We coordinate inspection, repair, or replacement through Glock's warranty process.
Customer changed their mind Subject to our policy. Transferred firearms may not be returnable, or may incur a restocking fee.
Background check / transfer fee Typically non-refundable, especially after the FFL has completed the transfer service.
Shipping charges Typically non-refundable, unless we shipped the wrong item or the issue is our fault.
Accessories included with a Glock Governed by our normal accessory policy — must be unused and in resalable condition.

Important Legal Note

There is no single nationwide federal rule requiring every dealer to give customers a particular number of days to return a Glock. Return terms are set by the shop's policy and must also comply with applicable federal, state, and local law.

Warranty vs. Return

Two Different Processes — Don't Confuse Them

Most buyer frustration comes from mixing these two up. Here's the clean distinction.

  • Return

    Change of Mind

You no longer want the item. Handled entirely by Gunbaze under our written return policy. Timing matters — returns are far simpler before the firearm is transferred.

Applies to: unfired firearms before transfer, accessories, apparel, and unopened ammunition.

  • Warranty

    Defect or Malfunction

Something is wrong with the product itself. Handled through Glock's warranty and service process, coordinated by us. Never treated as a change-of-mind return.

Applies to: factory defects, mechanical failures, and manufacturing issues — regardless of transfer status.

Starting a Return

How to Request a Return or Refund

Every return starts the same way — contact us before sending anything back. Unauthorized shipments cannot be accepted.

  1. 01

    Contact Us First

Email sales@gunbaze.com or use our contact form. Include your order number and a brief description. Do not ship anything back yet.

  2. 02

    We Review Your Case

We confirm the firearm's current status — transferred or not, fired or not — and whether it qualifies for a return.

  3. 03

    We Send Instructions

If eligible, we email you written instructions. Firearms must return through a licensed FFL — never shipped directly.

  4. 04

    Inspection & Refund

After inspection, we issue the refund minus any non-refundable fees, back to your original payment method.

Fees & State Law

What You Might Pay, and Why

Restocking Fee

Returns of transferred firearms may incur a restocking fee of 10–15% of the purchase price. We confirm the exact amount before processing any return — never after.

FFL Transfer Fee

Paid directly to your receiving dealer. Non-refundable once the FFL has logged the firearm or completed a background check.

Shipping Charges

Non-refundable on change-of-mind returns. Fully waived if we shipped the wrong item or the fault was ours.

State Requirements

Some states — including California, Massachusetts, and New York — impose additional return requirements. See our compliance page for details.

Please Contact Us Before Filing a Chargeback

We can usually resolve the issue faster than your bank can — typically within one business day. A chargeback can take weeks to process and often freezes the funds in the meantime. Reach out first: sales@gunbaze.com.

Return FAQ

Every Question We Get About Returns

If yours isn't here, contact us — we respond within one business day.

Can I return a Glock I haven't picked up yet?

If the firearm has not been transferred to you through the FFL, we can usually cancel the order before pickup. Contact us right away so we can stop the transfer with the dealer. Once a transfer is completed, the firearm is legally yours.

Can I return a Glock after I've picked it up?

Generally, no. Once a firearm has been transferred through an FFL, it falls outside normal retail return rules. We may accept a return in specific cases — such as a manufacturing defect — but those are handled through the warranty process, not standard refunds.

Do you charge a restocking fee?

Returns of transferred firearms may incur a restocking fee of 10–15% of the purchase price. We confirm the exact amount before processing any return — never after. Accessories and apparel are not subject to restocking fees.

My Glock has a defect. What do I do?

Contact us right away. If the issue is a manufacturing or functional defect, we'll coordinate with Glock's warranty and service process. Defective firearm returns are handled separately from change-of-mind returns and are not subject to restocking fees.

Is the FFL transfer fee refundable?

No. FFL transfer fees are paid to the receiving dealer for their service — completing the background check, logging the firearm, and handling the transfer. Once the service has been performed, the fee is non-refundable.

Are shipping charges refundable?

Shipping charges are non-refundable on change-of-mind returns. Exceptions apply when we shipped the wrong item, or when the issue was caused by us or the manufacturer — in those cases, shipping is fully waived or refunded.

What if I received the wrong item?

Contact us immediately. If we shipped the wrong item, we cover return shipping and send the correct item right away. This is one of the few cases where shipping charges are fully refundable or waived.

Can I return accessories or apparel?

Yes. Accessories and apparel that are unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition can be returned under our standard accessory policy. Contact us to start the return and we'll send you a shipping label where applicable.

Can I return ammunition?

Ammunition returns are restricted by federal and carrier rules. Once ammunition has left our facility, it generally cannot be returned unless it arrived damaged or defective. Contact us if you have a concern about your ammunition order.

How long does a refund take?

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, refunds are processed within 3–5 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take an additional 5–10 business days to post the refund to your account.

Can the receiving FFL refuse a return shipment?

Yes. Licensed dealers have discretion over what shipments they accept, and some will not accept returned firearms. For this reason, we always arrange returns to a specific FFL in advance and confirm acceptance with the receiving dealer before the firearm ships.

Does my state have different return rules?

Some states — including California, Massachusetts, and New York — impose additional requirements on firearm transactions. Our policy is designed to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local law. See our compliance page or contact us for state-specific questions.

What if I want to file a chargeback instead?

Please contact us first. We can usually resolve issues within one business day — much faster than a bank dispute, which can take weeks and often freezes the funds in the meantime. Email sales@gunbaze.com and give us a chance to make it right.

Where can I read your full written return policy?

Our complete written return policy is available below and governs all returns. It applies to purchases made directly from Gunbaze and is subject to applicable federal, state, and local law. If you have questions about any part of the policy, contact us before placing your order.
